Offline-first application for retail order fulfilment and delivery

For Aldi Süd I built the Vue 3 interfaces of a progressive web app for specialized mobile devices as part of the development team. The application covers both sides of the same process: coordinating orders in the store and fulfilment environment, including preparing them for customer pickup, and the delivery by drivers in delivery vehicles.
The core requirement was offline capability. Delivery vehicles have no continuous network connection, so the application had to work offline-first.
Result: employees coordinate orders and drivers carry out deliveries, even when the network connection drops.
What I built
- Offline-first architecture built on Service Workers
- Built with Vue.js 3 and TypeScript as an installable PWA
- Google Maps API integration for routing and navigation
- Worked in a Scrum team using GitLab; development and testing/live operation based in Mülheim for the US market
